The Encounter: Freya Pruitt
As editor-in-chief of TTW, I have interviewed many
fascinating people from around the world. But nothing
quite compares to the phenomenon I witnessed as I
walked alongside Lisa as she shared her ‘Words.’ This
dramatic encounter affected me by the cathartic gifting
that came through this amazing young woman. From
my own encounter with Lisa and her ‘Words’ I realized
true and authentic communication could actually
SAVE someone’s life! If we could find a non-threatening
and non-invasive way to activate a person’s desire to
communicate with another, could that be an answer to
the world communicating again? You bet it could, and I
have seen this phenomenon work over and over again!
Lisa simply goes up to a person and says: “I have a gift for
you!” She asks them to reach into her bag of words and
pull out a word and say it out loud.

“The gentleman smiled as he reached into the bag and pulled out
the word ‘sacrifice’. He became very still, and he and we watched
his wife have uncontrollable tears suddenly stream down her face.
He said he was a Viet Nam Vet and the word really touched a
deep place in his spirit. “
It is amazing to see their faces as they react to their
particular word, and begin to share what it means to
them! Imagine Lisa giving out words to random people
and not knowing their condition or life experience at the
time they receive their special ‘Word’. This procedure may
sound a bit out of the ordinary, but I was lucky enough to
experience one of those exchanges in Park City, Utah, at
an arts festival in the middle of town. I was walking with
Lisa as she went up to an older couple and said she had
a gift for them. The gentleman smiled as he reached into
the bag and pulled out the word ‘sacrifice’.
