biz-group named ‘Most Distinguished SME to Work for in the UAE’ for the Second Year Running

Adhering to its fundamental belief that companies thrive through the success of their people, biz-group, a leading UAE-based business consultancy specialising in corporate training, teambuilding and business strategy, has been named the number one ‘Most Distinguished SME to Work for in the UAE’ by Great Place to Work® Institute UAE for the second consecutive year.

The official list, published in the 16 March issue of Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East magazine, is a ranking of the nation’s best employers based on the confidential feedback of employees and an audit of management practices.

Ranked first among the UAE’s top five SMEs, biz-group received the recognition at an awards ceremony held at the Eden Beach Club, Rixos The Palm, to celebrate the winners.

The Great Place to Work® Institute once again acknowledged one of biz-group’s core strengths – its exceptionally high levels of trust that are at the centre of the company’s culture.

Striving to maintain its leadership position from 2013, biz-group has continued to invest in its people practices, scoring high in areas such as hiring, inspiring, welcoming and thanking.

A comprehensive culture audit highlighted other people-centered workplace practices, including core values that are aligned organisation-wide; a profit-sharing scheme; specific performance, appreciation and recognition awards; and the importance of the biz-group cultural fit in the recruitment process.

“At biz-group, we are honoured and humbled to receive this award. Our success can be attributed to our people – each person within our team of A Players has contributed to make this milestone possible, for the second time in a row,” commented Hazel Jackson, CEO and founder of biz-group.

"Our business model is built on the belief that if we help enough other people get what they want, we will get what we want. By creating an environment in which our people can learn, stretch and innovate, we ensure the continued growth and success of our company.”

Commenting on the Most Distinguished SMEs list, Ron Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Great Place to Work Gulf, said: “Congratulations to all participants in this year’s program. The SME sector is not only the backbone of any economy but also an important driver of entrepreneurship and innovation. We are really pleased to find some world-class HR practices among the UAE’s top five SMEs. This is a testament to our belief that any company, irrespective of size, can build a culture of workplace excellence.”
