A nation Struggles to Dismantle the Tower
In every deck, The Tower is depicted as chaos - in most, it portrays people as they fall from a burning tower into flames, or some such forceful symbolism.
What it means is the stability and security that we have created through our own idealism has been twirled upside down.
It is when we turn a blind eye to reality and, instead, cling to our version of fantasy – the one that brings a sense of safety.
It is, indeed, a paper house that we’ve built – an illusion of wellbeing. Brick by brick, we lovingly craft idyllic person space. We build this perfect model up, not realizing these bricks are made out of fear.
Fear of change.
We cling to established patterns and refuse to look beyond the walls of our Personal Tower- which, by the way, has now been built so high
built so high that we believe we are superior to most others, whether consciously or unconsciously, and have not yet realized there is no way out.
We did not include a staircase that leads down to the external world or a door that opens into a liberated revolution of the soul.
We have now become hostages to the very ideals that led to the building of our Towers.
This is where we stand today, as a nation that struggles to dismantle the Tower we have built by turning a blind eye to racial inequality.
