They are typical baskets made
of "curina", the tender and
very resistant part of the
Sicilian dwarf palm tree leaves,
which weaved together give life
to the Coffa. Originally, the
Sicilian Coffa was a tool
used in the agricultural
activities, as a basket for the
forage of horses or as a
container for transporting
materials; it was placed on
mules. Some well-known fashion
houses, drawing inspiration from
the origins of a poor
instrument, recalled the coffa
by giving it new life.
The coffa represents a symbol
of Sicilian tradition and that’s
why some jewels reproduce its
shape.
