As soon as the baby ’ s good news is spread , grandmothers , aunts , everyone who knits from their hands will buy soft baby wool . They start knitting colorful booties , cardigans and blankets for the little one who will come to the world . The clothes prepared for the baby are kept in white soap until the little one is born . One of the oldest customs related to newborn babies is to bury the baby ' s umbilical cord in a meaningful , good place . It is thought that the place where the baby ' s umbilical cord will be buried will affect the life of the child and determine its fate .
