Ilinden : Macedonian Traditional Festival
A horsemanship comes from all over Macedonia to Krushevo on 1 st August . The journey begins on 27 th July and it lasts 4 days . It symbolises the unification of people of different nationalities from all over Macedonia to participate in the Ilinden Uprising as it is said in the Krusevo Manifest . It is welcomed by a lot of people with traditional Macedonian bread-pogaca with salt and traditional Macedonian music .
The main celebration takes place on the place called “ Gumenje ”. All the visitors are welcomed by the Major of the Town . There is also an event on which each year different performers perform on stage in honour of the holiday . On midnight there is an improvised attack that symbolises the beginning of the Ilinden Uprising .
