CELEBRATIONS IN IZMIR
Celebrations for the conquest of Çaka Bey and İzmir
" 1081 Izmir ' s Conquest Celebrations by Turks " is held on Sunday , March 25 , this year hosted by the Governorship of Izmir , Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Selcuk Municipality . Selçuk will host the magnificent celebrations in the event series that started with Çaka Bey Book Days , which opened in Alsancak on March 16 . Within the framework of the celebrations , which will begin with the departure of the cortege from the Station Square on Sunday , March 25 , archery competitions and demonstrations will be held before noon . The celebrations will continue throughout the day with folk dance performances that will start at the Pazaryeri at 14:00 , composition , painting and poetry contests on Çaka Bey and award ceremonies to be held for conquest trophies . Izmirians will listen to the concert to be given by MFÖ at 20:00 . As part of the celebrations , Çaka Bey Book Days , which will be opened on March 24 in Selçuk , can be visited until April 1 , 2018 .
