POWERED BY DAIRY

FROM HOUSEHOLD FAVOURITES TO PROFESSIONAL KITCHENS, LACTALIS SOUTH AFRICA POWERS EVERYDAY MOMENTS WITH WORLD-CLASS DAIRY MADE LOCALLY, BACKED BY GLOBAL SCALE AND DECADES OF EXPERTISE.

Lactalis South Africa is the proud manufacturer of some of the country’ s most trusted and loved dairy brands, including Parmalat, Melrose, Président, Steri Stumpie, Bonnita and PureJoy.

The company forms part of the Lactalis Group, the world’ s largest dairy company, which was founded in 1933 by André Besnier in Laval, in western France. Today, the Lactalis Group operates 250 production sites and employs more than 85 000 people across 94 countries worldwide.
In South Africa, Lactalis combines global dairy expertise with deep local knowledge and passion. This powerful blend has supported job creation and delivered wholesome dairy products to local consumers since the early 1900s, when their journey began with iconic brands such as Bonnita and Parmalat.
The Lactalis Group acquired a majority share in Parmalat SpA in 2011. In 2020, the business officially rebranded as Lactalis South Africa – a change in name only, reflecting its integration into the global Lactalis family while retaining its strong local roots.
Today, Lactalis South Africa remains home to a diverse and well-established portfolio of dairy products. These include cheese, yoghurt, milk and custard as well as flavoured milk, cream, drinking yoghurt, fruit beverages, butter and ice cream.
Lactalis South Africa’ s Food Services division offers a comprehensive range of products and services tailored to the food service industry. Chefs, bakers, caterers, commercial kitchens, hotels, restaurants, canteens and airlines all benefit from this specialised offering. Lactalis Food Services provides consistently high-quality, great-tasting products designed to meet a wide variety of catering needs.
Core values in action Lactalis South Africa is guided by three core values: Ambition, Engagement and With Simplicity. These values, together with their supporting behaviours, are central to how the business is managed and how teams work together every day. Here’ s a rundown of what each value entails:
