Her popular character as “Queen Helena” in the Historic drama (‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’) and her amazing dialogue delivery in “shuddh” Hindi has won many a hearts. Moreover, she is the first foreigner actress to feature in more than 21 popular television shows and 14 movies. S hare S omething A bout Y our P ersonal L ife I got married to an Indian actor/ director Akhil Mishra. We worked together in the movies Kram and serial Mera Dil Deewana (Doordarshan). W hat was Y our F irst R ole as an A ctor ? I wished to be an actress from a really young age for that I started learning languages in order that I might get the base and additionally did three years acting course at the age of nineteen in Berlin. I came to Bombay in 2005 and met lots of individuals. I first came to notice in serial ‘ Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ as a foreigner bahu ‘ Doris Bajaj ’. The show gave me good recognition in India. Y our E xperience W hen Y ou F irst faced C amera ? I was a bit nervous as I had to shoot in a ‘Salvar kameez’ in a particular traditional attire, however, I offered my best and the entire team complimented me which gave me confidence. I worked in Marathi and Bengali films and serials. I also portrayed the Indian political Soniya Gandhi on screen in APB News Political Drama. W hat D id Y ou A lways W ant to be ? I always wanted to be an actress as it has been my passion since childhood, but I was a trained ballet dancer also. I participated in Marathi’s “Dholkichya Talvar” and reach the semi finals. I also did a Lavani dance in Marathi movie Gallit Ghondal. I really loved it. My formal classical Ballet dance background helped me to do it. W hat ’ s Y our B iggest A chievement ? I have been awarded the ”Maharashtrian Kalabushan” award in contribution to Marathi culture. I’m also involved with an Indian based social service organization Sulabh International and did a short film for the UN. I also visit- ed Madhya Pradesh to support Shri Shiv Raj Singh Chouhan in Narmada Swachhata Abhiyan. I promoted Jaipur Tourism by acting in a short film titled “Atithi Devo Bhava”. 48
