Silver Lily
“Lady Seola!” A knight clad in a pale green dress and clunky metal boots approached
Seola as she laid in bed, her cape swayed behind her as she walked
“It is almost time. Are you ready?” The long, silver haired beauty turned over to face
her knight, her knight’s beautiful and sharp amber eyes and long, brown hair pulled back
by two red ribbons.
Seola stood up and her hair fell to her knees. “I suppose, Liv. I shouldn’t have father
wait on me.” The two walked out of her room and down the cobblestone st airs lit by warm
candles and small slivers of windows that allowed Seola to take in the entire city. Colorful
banners hung between building and lanterns floated through the air in reds, blues, greens,
but mainly the most beautiful of purples, filled the city, marking this grand day. “I really
don’t deserve this. It’s only a birthday.”
“‘Only a birthday’, my Lady.” Liv turned her head around as they made their way to
the bottom of the stairs, her face bright and gleeful. “It is the day you become eligible be to
wed, the day your father has waited for since your birth.” Liv turned around, slightly sadder
now because of what she said.
Seola sighed as she gazed out the windows, “I suppose that’s true... but,” she paused
before continuing, “that means that I must leave my kingdom, and you, for someone else.”
“Who says I’m not going to go with?” Liv spun around. “We’ve seen monster attacks
and their defeat, we’ve gotten through your sad times and happy times; I’m not going to
leave you.” She smiled and turned around. She quickly blushed as she saw that someone
had heard them.
“You do realize, Liv,” the man in red spoke through a grin, “Seola has to marry a
prince. You’re a knight.” His green eyes stuck out against his dark red hair and his dark skin.
He was dressed similarly to Liv: metal boots, cape, but with a golden trim along his cuffs
and numerous medals of honor. Liv snorted and walked up to him to jab him in the arm,
not hard, but more like old friends do.
“Hey!” he giggled, “I’m just saying you two are like best friends!”
now?”
“Well, Alex,” Seola began, “Shouldn’t you be with father? Who’s guarding him right
Alex waved his hand in a nonchalant fashion. “The other knights are there with him.
He sent me to help escort you.” He bowed towards Seola and joined her to her left, and Liv
turned to Seola’s right. “It’s a beautiful day for your birthday, isn’t it, my Lady?” Seola looked
out again to the bright sunny day and the deep blue sky above, a gentle breeze swept through
the air as she breathed in.
