Best Friend

By Bailey Boehm

You’re my very obsession

my best friend forever.

I know you always have my back,

or my feet, I should say.

Over the years of recitals and practice,

you’ve become ragged and worn.

But I don’t care.

Without you, what would I be?

Certainly not myself.

I have to face the barren fact

that someday you will grow too old,

to be there and be useful.

But I’ll keep you forever.

Forever, forever a memory,

In my heart and in my toes,

in the tutus and the tights

on my dresser to brighten my day.

Thank you, my faithful friend,

with your silk ribbons.

You’ve been wonderful to me.

Dogs

Dogs are a mans best friend

They will be there until the end

When they die,

It is as hard as any other close death

But just know they are at rest

Life is a struggle

You take it one day at a time

Conflicts will be encountered

But if you make every day as if it were your last,

You will have no regrets

Summer is coming

Each day needs to go faster

So get your tan on

Life is not easy

It has good moments and bad

Make the most of it

Life is an ocean

The waves represent troubles

They crash at some point

Santa is coming

Bake cookies and reindeer food

Go to sleep children

Lies get you nowhere

You will get called out on it

Stop making up lies

Fall is on its way

Bringing happiness and cheer

Christmas will be next

Here comes Santa Claus

Giving toys to good children

And coal to the bad

Presidential vote

Opinions are said and heard

And one side gets hurt

Vacation is fun

Usually in the summer

Tanning in the sun

Hollywood lifestyle

Glamour and money are shown

We are surrounded

True heroes protect

Risking their lives for others

Fighting for beliefs

After a bad storm

God gives us what he promised

A happy ending
