PASSENGERS
RECEIVE EMPANCIPATION WELCOME
Cruise passengers from Carnival Sensation were pleasantly surprised on Emancipation Day. When the ship docked in Ocho Rios, the passengers got the chance to participate in Jamaica’ s celebration of 180 years of Emancipation. Jamaican culture was put on display through our dance, music and food.
Music and dance represented all the different ethnic influences; showcasing moves adopted from Africa, through to Dancehall. They received delectable treats through samples of jerk chicken and pork served with festivals. The visitors also got a taste of our Stamp and Go( saltfish fritters) and some of our traditional pastry items in the form of gizzadas and grater cake. To top this all off they had ice-cold Jamaican fruit juices. See the highlights below!
