FOR TRAINING
The Tourism Training Unit – Western Region conducted a two-day training in
Customer Service Excellence for the staff at Western Parks and Markets (WPM),
a division of the National Solid Waste Management Authority. The training
was conducted during the period July 17 and 18 at the Grandiosa Hotel in
Montego Bay. Nineteen (19) employees were in attendance, representing
various positions within the organizations such as : - Public Cleansing Inspector,
Zonal
Monitor,
Secretary,
Office
Attendant,
Customer
Service
Representative, Commercial Monitor, Enforcement Monitor, Route Supervisor
and Accounting Clerk.
This was an exciting training that cov-
ered areas such as Customer Service,
Professionalism, Self -Development
and Cultural Sensitivity. The training
was well received and participants
expressed that they were reminded of
the importance to develop and main-
tain positive attitude at all times.

“I found this training to be a necessity and one that should be done every once
in a while. I appreciate the fact that we were encouraged to make good cus-
tomer service a lifestyle as we thrive towards “wowing” our internal and external
customers. This enriched programme should be shared in all facets of our
business entities in order to promote a customer friendly Jamaica”
