CHILLIN’
SERENGETI
Nestled in the heart of Hope Zoo, is a quaint ligneous space, home to a newly
opened dining experience entitled Chillin’ Restaurant.
Those of you who are on your P’S and Q’s with Jamaica’s entertainment and party
scene, may be aware of the premium drinks and food inclusive Chillin’ party
hosted by Wright Image Events, an event company orchestrated by PJ Wright. The
brand aims for sustainability and constant association with a unique party and now
dining experience.
On November 21st, I had the opportunity of experiencing all that is Chillin
Restaurant for their #TasteandChill testing, preceding their soft opening on
November 26th.
My taste buds surrendered to the unique handy work of
nineteen (19) year old Executive Chef and Consultant,
Garfield Seivwright Jr.
Personally, as a creative the dining experience was
not just about the food for me, but also about the
aesthetically pleasing environment with wooden and
minimalistic accents that caught my eye,
complimented by an impeccably unique and creative
menu.
I started the night off with a vegetable soup served with dinner rolls to wet the pallet for the
amalgamation of Jamaican flavours to come. My appetizer of choice was the Sweet
Scotch Bonnet chicken wings, which was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.
However, I did get the chance to also try the Murray’s Goat and Roti Waffles Bites, which
were surprisingly amazing!
My food journey of excitement continued with my entrée of cast iron toasted almond with
oven-roasted pineapple crusted salmon served with sautéed vegetables and my desired side of Irish mashed
potatoes.
Now I am wholeheartedly an unbiased foodie, and my rate for the Chillin’ Restaurant is definitely 8/10, as the
above was complimented with something I consider a scarcity - excellent customer service. I was constantly
checked on to ensure I was enjoying my meal, but also for them to double check if there was anything else
they could provide to make my evening there even better.
It’s Christmas! Tis the season for great food with friends and family, so take an evening and give Chillin’ a try!
If you’re in the mood for a specific experience the restaurant boasts “Curry Goat Wednesdays” and
“Sunday Brunch” weekly, so you have no excuse but to make your taste buds love you this season!
xoxo
