TOWARDS A PRO-ACTIVE SPORTS STADIUM INFRASTRUCTURE IN NIGERIA
Abstract
This paper explores the benefits of standards in sports stadium infrastructural development in
Nigeria. It identifies the inadequacies in our sport infrastructure especially the major sport
infrastructure which is stadium. This is of great importance because with the advancement of
technology it is now very easy for people to watch various stadium events from the comfort of
their various homes, without going to the stadium. This alone calls for the provisions of
attractive features that will make stadium events memorable, and that will make a one-time
visitor look forward to visiting again. Modern Stadium in itself is an out-door setting where main
sports and other memorable events takes place. So, care must be taken to ensure standards, as
well as security and comfort of spectators, media personnel, players or actors, workers, during
stadium events. Sports have become a serious business not only for the European countries, but
also to every nation on the planet earth. A good stadium infrastructure is paramount to a great
stadium events experience.
