Tourist Vocational Training Course number_1 | Seite 4

Tourist vocational training courses are thought to enable future professional staff to plan, organize and promote tourist destinations, guiding and helping travellers throughout the whole process.

In IEDA we try to prepare qualified staff to work in different types of events such as travellers' terminals, tourist information centres, travel agencies, hotels and all the fields that conform the tourist industry.

For that reason, tasks and exercises are conceived to fulfill students' expectations, dealing in depth with both theoretical and practical aspects.

That is the reason why English is an essential subject in our course, since it has become the international language used by people travelling around the world becoming then the lingua franca for brouchures, hotel management, accommodation adverts and hotel booking. During the course, we will try to focus our attention on the development of different skills, thus listening, oral and writing skills will be practised using several types of resources and tools.

To facilitate online learning there are a few steps you should follow:

1. Participate. Don't be afraid of learning, asking your teachers and helping your classmates. Remember there is a full erray of resources that can help you during the process.

2. Plan your own learning schedule. It is very important to establish the time you are going to dedicate to each subject so as to improve your results.

3. Apply what you learn. Apply everything you learn as you learn it and you will remember it more readily.

4. Read the syllabus on your first visit to the course. It is very important if you want to control the course's major calendar dates and the evaluation criteria.

5. Don’t panic when the technology doesn’t work.Try again and if the system still doesn’t work, contact your teacher.
