From 18th to 25th may, 86 first semester students had the opportunity to enjoy a Walking Tour in the Old City of Cartagena de Indias.
The tour started in San Pedro Mártir Bastion, and continue to Peace and Concord Door, Apolo Park, The Vaults, Las Tenazas Barrier, San Diego Square, Sofitel Santa Clara Hotel, José Fernández de Madrid Square, Adolfo Mejía Theatre, Santo Domingo Church, Santo Domingo Square, Bolívar Park, San Pedro Claver Church, Aduana square, Los Coches squares, The Clock Tower, Camellón de los Mártires and finished in Parque Centenario.
This walking tour was guided by Professor Alfredo Pérez Caballero, Historian and Professor of the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management, who kept the students' attention, sharing historic information about the city.
During the tour, the students were asking some questions and taking many pictures. They really enjoyed this academic visit and discovered facts that they did not know about their city and the most important tourist places.
Downtown, well know as The Old Cit, is still an emblematic place where tourists and local people can find different options to spend free time. This is also the field for first semester students to collect information in order to develop their classroom projects. They usually research about the streets, the monuments and the squares of the city.
