A country is more than a simple patch of land . It should not be overlooked like a measly grain of sand . And Guyana , our land , our home , Is more grand , it ’ s the place we all roam
Guyana is a hidden treasure chest , And we must do our best , To preserve its beauty that ’ s continuously in supply , Like the bright green rice paddies , its colour crisp to the eye .
Kaieteur falls , that flows with power , Provide lower trees with an endless shower , With water that twinkles like diamonds under the sunlight , Gives way to a sight that ’ s an absolute delight .
Guyana has luscious forests and vast mountain ranges And that ’ s one thing we hope never changes , Our land is blooming with life , a beacon of nature , We want it to stay the same , for the sake of our future .
I love Guyana , it ’ s been my home since birth , And I love the pepperpot for Christmas for what it ’ s worth , The cultures and traditions are completely unmatched . Guyana my home , I wish not to be detached .
I love Guyana , the scenery is colourful , It is perhaps the definition of beautiful . The rolling grasslands under the sun , The interior Savannah ’ s , the perfect place for cattle to run .
Linden , home of bauxite mines , Fosters sand like cradles , holding water that shines . Born were lakes more blue than the sky , Resting in sand , yellow and red as if colored by dye .
I love Guyana , it ’ s a home for miraculous animals , Such as birds , reptiles and so many mammals . The harpy eagle , jaguar and the black caiman , Are protected here , bothered by no man .
I love Guyana , it ’ s a home to reservations , And the Iwokrama forest is one of the rare creations . For the leatherback turtles , there lies Shell beach , A home , a haven , a birthplace for each .
“ Why do I love Guyana ?” You ask Finding an answer was a simple task . Why do I love this land of many waters ? This land of six peoples , Guyana never falters .
