How do you spend your leisure time in Calgary ? Calgary has a number of unique communities like Kensington , Inglewood and the Beltline that contain an array of one-of-akind shops and eateries . On any given day you can find me wandering down the street with friends popping in and out of places along our walk .

How do you spend your leisure time in Calgary ? On my bike . You can see so much of the city thanks to our separated bike lanes and flat terrain . Not to mention we have the largest bike path network in North America , so in a matter of minutes , you could be anywhere in the city .
What is your favourite attraction in Calgary ? The National Music Centre is so amazing . Seeing the building itself alone is an attraction , but inside you ’ ll find an arrangement of Canadian music artifacts .
What fun annual Calgary event or festival do you look forward to every year ? I love the Calgary Folk Music Festival [ July 2018 ] because it ’ s located right on Prince ’ s Island Park , which makes it easy for everyone to access and enjoy . For four days , it ’ s almost like a small town moves onto the island .
What ’ s your essential tour of Calgary for out-of-towners ? Inglewood . While it may be Calgary ’ s oldest neighbourhood , it ’ s definitely one of the city ’ s most exciting and fun . There ’ s so many fantastic shops , you could spend the entire day popping in and out of shops and still never see them all . Over the past few years , a few great breweries have opened up in the area like Cold Garden , High Line and The Dandy Brewing Company .
Do you have a favourite museum or gallery , or favourite nightlife spot ? National on 8th has western Canada ’ s largest rooftop patio . On a warm summer night , it ’ s amazing to feel like you ’ re on top of the city and taking in the sights and sounds . calgary . be part of the energy . visitcalgary . com
What is your favourite attraction in Calgary ? Heritage Park is by far my most favourite inner-city attraction to spend the day and it ’ s also the place I proposed to my husband . Situated on a 127-acre peninsula of prime parkland surrounded on three sides by the Glenmore Reservoir , the park warps you back in time to explore Canada ’ s Western Heritage .
What fun annual Calgary event or festival do you look forward to every year ? During the 10 days of the Calgary Stampede , endless community events are held ; my favourite being the 4th Street Annual Pancake Showdown [ July 2018 ]. Dozens of vendors set out to wow visitors by creating original pancake recipes in hopes to take home the annual ‘ Best Of ’ trophy .
What ’ s your essential tour of Calgary for out-of-towners ? For my guests who visit in the summer , it ’ s mandatory to treat them to a float down the Bow River . It ’ s a perfect way to see our city while relaxing in the sun .
Do you have a favourite museum or gallery , or favourite nightlife spot ? From speakeasies to basement bar bowling alleys , Calgary ’ s nightlife has a lot of interesting places to explore . Chat up a local while you ’ re out during the day for a suggestion on their favourite place to hang out . My personal suggestion to start the night is empanadas and creative rum cocktails at Ricardo ’ s Hideaway !
