Grand Canyon Track Hiking.
The Blue Mountains is a magical place any time of the
year. Glowing in autumn, cool in winter, colourful in spring
and refreshing in summer. The Greater Blue Mountains was
inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2000 and was one of
15 World Heritage places included in the National Heritage
List on 21 May 2007.
What does it mean to be World Heritage Listed?
“World Heritage is the designation for places on earth
that are of outstanding universal value to humanity and as
such, have been inscribed on the World Heritage List to be
protected for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.
Places as diverse and unique as the Pyramids of Egypt, the
Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Galapagos Islands in Ecuador,
the Taj Mahal in India, the Grand Canyon in the USA, or the
Acropolis in Greece are examples of the 890 natural and
cultural places inscribed on the World Heritage List to date*.”
The Three Sisters.
The Three Sisters is the Blue Mountains’ most spectacular
landmark. Located at Echo Point Katoomba, around 2.5
kilometres from the Great Western Highway, this iconic visitor
attraction is experienced by millions of people each year. The
Three Sisters is essentially an unusual rock formation
representing three sisters who according to Aboriginal legend
were turned to stone.
Experience the great outdoors by camping in the Blue
