The Savannah Campground features 82 sites for tents , campervans and caravans , shared bathroom amenities ( flushing toilets and solar hot water showers ) and four undercover bush kitchens equipped with gas BBQs , sinks , preparation areas and seating .
Or ‘ glamp it up ’ in the deluxe eco tents with hotel quality bedding and a private en-suite – here , tucked up in your kingsized bed , you ’ ll be lulled by the chirping of frogs , crickets and ‘ sounds of the outback ’ through the canvas walls . Each tent features a wooden decking patio where you can sit and absorb the sunset glow , or drift away on the endless blanket of stars that reflect the timelessness of this ancient country . For those seeking more rustic accommodation , there are dorm style eco tents and cabins .
Dining under the stars All guests are welcome to savour the starlight hours at the fully licensed bar and outback style restaurant – with al fresco dining and a uniquely Australian dinner menu , infused with local ingredients and served with a taste of genuine outback Western Australia ‘ mateship ’ hospitality .
Joffre Gorge The walk trail into the gorge ( 10 mins ) starts directly at the Retreat . The brilliant red cliff faces of Joffre Gorge are home to the grand Joffre Falls - where rushing white waters cascade over a steep stairway of ledges , softening the rugged landscape with their silken flow . The neighbouring gorges : Dales , Hancock , Kalamina , Red and Weano and the ‘ gorgeous ’ bathing spots at Fortesque Falls , Fern Pool and Circular Pool are all within easy driving distance . Guided tours can be booked at the Retreat .
