It is relatively long (215km) and particularly testing. The route has been designed with the idea that gusting wind could create echelons and split the peloton into several sections during the first part of the stage. This would then make the second half very tricky, because we’ve found a succession of quite steep hills, including one at Mutigny with a gradient that averages 12%. Mention should also be made of the finish in Épernay, which sits at the top of a ‘wall’ of 15%! The winner will undoubtedly be a puncheur. TIMETABLE To ride PUNCH REQUIRED! KILOMETRES
