So we’re starting in the city of Brussels, where he grew up. We’ll also pay tribute to one of the country’s specialities, sprinting! A bunch finish in front of the Royal Palace of Brussels is the most likely end to this mostly flat stage through the city and its surrounds. Before they get to the finish, though, the peloton will tackle the roads of the Flemish classics, most notably the iconic climb of the Mur de Grammont. There should be a good contest there as the first rider over at the top will pull on the polka-dot jersey.
