It features the functionality and ease of use of the original BOLT but with the added benefi t of being designed to cut through the wind on the pointy end of your bike. When fi tted to WAHOO’s integrated Out Front Mount it produces 50% less drag than the standard BOLT. On the feature front it can provide turn-by-turn navigation and, thanks to its black and white screen, its battery will last for up to 15 hours of ride time. CAMPY CLASSIC + DISC Campagnolo Bora One 35 Disc Brake carbon wheels | RRP R34 499 | www.campagnolo.com These carbon wheels have been specifi cally designed for disc brakes. Weighing in at 1 483g (clincher) for the pair, the carbon is layered by hand to ensure they roll perfectly smoothly on their monolithic aluminium hubs. They are laced by 24-bladed stainless steel spokes to aluminium nipples and spin on ceramic bearings. They feature a 35mm deep section design as well as an external width of 23.5mm. For the real racing snakes, they are also available in an even lighter tubular version, which tip the scales at 1 276g. ENVY OUR AERO ENVE Aero Road Stem | RRP R5 150 | www.enve.com ENVE’s Aero Road Stem makes use of an angle-adjusting shim to provide you with the choice of a -12° (standard), -17° or -7° angle when fi tting the stem to your bike. Through work with Team Dimension Data, ENVE says it has discovered that these angles are best for getting riders as aerodynamic as possible on the bike. The carbon stem is also exceptionally neat, which ensures cleaner airfl ow over it, and is compatible with all ENVE road bars and any standard steerer tube. Just note that it is intended for negative drop only and cannot be fl ipped. RACE/ADVENTURE ALL-IN-ONE Rondo HVRT | RRP from R34 950 | www.rondobikes.co.za Rondo’s take on versatility is a re-imagination on the term. Their HVRT is essentially an aero road bike with big tyre clearance, big enough for 700x32C or even 650Bx47C tyres. Its geometry points to a race-focused machine, but with a fl ip of the clip in the Twintip fork, you can make it slacker for ultra-endurance adventure rides. Fit it with rubber at the upper end of its compatibility range and you can crush even the most pot-holed South African roads. Rondo calls its compatibility with 650B wheels in a road bike Road Plus, and says that in the HVRT you will have one bike that can do it all. You will probably need a second wheelset to really get the most out of its capabilities though. As pictured in the CFO specifi cation, it features carbon HUNT wheels and a Shimano Dura-Ace drivetrain. It is available in an aluminium frame (full bikes from R34 950), carbon frame (R32 900) or steel frame (R18 900) and with Twintip fork options for you to build up as you see fi t. 2 0 1 9 TO U R D E FR ANCE | 61
