SAVOIE (73)
After more than 200km yesterday, there
are just 126.5 today. Consequently, this
will be an action-packed mountain stage.
It will take the peloton to the summit of
the Iseran, the ‘roof’ of the 2019 Tour at
an altitude of 2 770m, before the climb to
Tignes, where the finish will be at 2 089m.
We can assume that there will be two big
battles: one between the favourites for the
general classification and one involving the
contenders for the polka-dot jersey. With
double points available on all super-category
passes, a pure climber should be on the
podium in Paris.
