He still completed the stage and went on to win his fifth Tour de France title that year. Caravan Completed There’s not much respite: here we are again with a medium mountain stage ahead of us. We went looking for every imaginable hill we could find between Mâcon and Saint- Étienne. Some are longish climbs of 6-7km, others shorter at 2-3km, but averaging 10%! They’ll make it hard enough to ensure that there’s no guarantee of a puncheur being in the mix at the finish because we’ll be at the limit of what a non-climber can cope with. And if the GC leaders decide to take advantage of all of these ramps, it could result in an intense day, and even one where there’s considerable upheaval. TIMETABLE To ride THIS WILL BE HARD WORK!
