Completed
We’ve never hidden the fact that this 106th
edition is designed for climbers. We’re
inviting them to come out of the shadows
when the race enters the Vosges and the
medium mountains. On a route that passes
through Alsatian villages that are each as
stunning as the next, the stand-out points
are the Côte du Haut-Koenisbourg, which
climbs in front of the medieval château of the
same name, and the Côte des Trois-Épis. It’s
a picture-postcard setting, but on the road
there’ll be a big sort-out within the peloton.
It should be a straight fight between the
baroudeurs and puncheurs at the finish.
