Sweet and Sassy is a pastry and confectionary shop that was started three years ago and has taken the Cake industry by storm. Their speciality is the 'Mkate Sinia' which is a real hit! Sweet and Sassy tries to introduce Swahili dishes to their clientele. Before starting sweet and sassy, she worked for a company which was really time consuming.

"I chose the cake business because i love seeing people's happy moments turn to special moments". She says.

FOUNDER'S Q&A

We got a chance to interview the Founder and this is what she had to say:

TDBA: What were the challenges when starting and how did you overcome them?

C: The most difficult part was that people don't believe in new products until they hear others comment. Business was really not attaining the basic goals. To overcome this, i had to do a lot of marketing and give free samples.

TDBA: What do you find most exciting about the business?

C: Food sector has many challenges. One small mistake can ruin your entire business. However, every experience is different from the other, you get all kinds of characters and different tastes of cakes.

TDBA: What is your advice to clients when picking a menu for an occasion?

C: I always advuse my cliets to pick cosmopolitan desserts. In that way, many can have what they know and try something new as well.
