INSPIRATION

RUN WITH OUR AMBASSADORS

The Totalsports Women’ s Race is proud to count these inspirational women as official brand ambassadors of the event in 2025.
LERATO MOKHANELI
Lerato is one of the most inspirational women we know! Having only started running in December 2023, as a plus-sized woman, she is smashing her fitness and weight-loss goals, and is an incredible example to everyone out there who may be too afraid to try. As a mother of a 11-year-old daughter, Lerato decided two years ago to take charge of her life by adopting a healthier lifestyle, in order to set a good example for her daughter. Due to her authenticity and determination, Lerato has built up a large following on social media, and it is a privilege for us to have her as a Totalsports Women’ s Race Ambassador, especially since her goal is to have fun on the run while enjoying this celebration of womanhood.
MASIBULELE MKHUNDLU
Masibulele, or Fit Masi as she is affectionately known, began her fitness journey seven years ago in the gym, but then decided to look to running to further challenge herself. This journey has seen her go from initially loving the 5km distance to becoming a multiple Comrades Marathon finisher, and today she is a fitness influencer who is passionate about running, fitness and influencing women( and men) in sports. She motivates and inspires others through her daily posts and vibrant personality, and says she wakes up every day with the goal of encouraging people to follow their fitness dreams. She is really excited about being an Ambassador for the Totalsports Women’ s Race, because she loves the idea that the event prioritises and celebrates women.
GLORIA NGCOBO
Gloria exudes positivity and confidence! She loves running, but more than anything, she loves being part of a community of like-minded people. Having run her first Comrades Marathon in 2023, she continues to run towards things that bring her joy … and this happiness is contagious! Gloria loves inspiring those around her, and she is excited to meet wonderful people and make new memories as she takes on the Totalsports Women’ s Race this year! Gloria is also known for her amazing dance moves, so if you see her along the road, ask her to share some moves with you! She is looking to once again run sub-60 minutes for 10km, so if you’ re looking for the best company to smash your sub-60 goal, then make sure you tag along with her.
THATO MOENG
Thato is a South African journalist, host, presenter and voice-over artist, and is best known as one of the talented female presenters on SuperSport. Inspired by her father, she studied journalism at Tshwane University of Technology, originally intending to go into political journalism, but instead has pursued a highly successful career in sport journalism, including a hosting role for the FIFA World Cup. Her coverage of running events has seen her working at prestigious events such as the Comrades Marathon, Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon and the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series events, often from the back of a motorcycle and stopping along the route for interviews and live spots, but now she will swap the microphone for her running shoes and take on the Totalsports Women’ s Race herself.
In an exciting new development for the 2025 Totalsports Women’ s Race, some of our brand ambassadors will also be running as official pacesetters in the 10km race, so look out for Gloria Ngcobo running with the 60-minute bus and Masibulele Mkhundlu helping the 80-minute bus along, while Lerato Mokhaneli will be aiming for a finish. Entrants are invited to join these Ambassadors’ buses and enjoy the terrific spirit and vibe as the pacesetters help the runners to achieve their target times.
