ORIENTATION OF THE MAP …
• To help you get your bearings on this zoomed in venue map, note that Table Mountain would be off the bottom side of this map, while the Cape Town Harbour would be off the top side of the map.
• Both start lines are in the bottom right corner of the map, with runners heading south-east( to the right of the map), towards the southern suburbs, after the starting gun is fired.
•
THE START LINE …
• The 10km start is on Darling Street, between the Grand Parade and the Cape Town City Hall, with runners facing towards the Cape Town Castle and the Southern Suburbs, and with Table Mountain on their right. The 10km starting batch areas will stretch from the start line back towards the city centre, with Elites and age contenders lining up first, followed by Batches A to E.
• The 5km start is in Castle Street, between the Grand Parade and the Cape Town Castle, with runners facing towards Table Mountain. Participants will line up in Batches A to C.
• Please make your way to the respective 10km or 5km batches, marked according to the colour of your race number – white for the 10km and pink for the 5km – and the letter on your race number. Please arrive at the start early, to avoid any last-minute rush.
• The start line will officially close at 08h45, which is 15 minutes after the scheduled start time of the 5km run. No late starters will be allowed on the route after that.
THE FINISH LINE …
• The finish line and race village are on the Grand Parade.
• 10km participants will approach the finish area along Darling Street, from the city centre side, running in the same direction as the start, and will turn left onto the Grand Parade.
• 5km participants will approach the finish area along Darling Street, from the Castle side, in the opposite direction to the start, and will turn right onto the Grand Parade.
PARKING INSTRUCTIONS …
• There is free parking at various parking areas in the near vicinity of the Grand Parade, and some paid-for parking areas, on a first come, first served basis, and all vehicles are parked at own risk.
• Free street parking is available in and around the Grand Parade area.
• There will be no public parking on the Grand Parade, and the limited parking at the Cape Town Castle is reserved for VIPs, crew and disabled participants.
• We strongly encourage runners to make use of car-pooling or public transport, e. g. Uber or other drop & go services, to get to the race venue, if possible.
FACILITIES AT THE VENUE …
• Toilets will be available at the race venue on the Grand Parade, close to the start and finish.
• There will be complimentary tog bag drop and collect facilities in the race village, on the north-east side of the Grand Parade, near to the Cape Town Castle. There will be assistance to guide you through the process of dropping off and collecting your bag.
• A general medical area will be positioned at the end of the finish chute.
• The post-race Pump Session, Live Music by Lady Zamar and Prizegiving will take place on the stage in the race venue.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THE START ON RACE DAY!
