TOTALSPORTS TWO OCEANS TRAIL RUN POWERED BY BYD
1 WHEN & WHERE
1.1 The Totalsports Two Oceans Trail Run Powered by BYD takes place on Friday 10 April 2026
4 START PROCEDURE
4.1 The fields for both races will be divided into start batches to spread runners out and alleviate congestion and delays on single-track sections of the route.
1.2 The 24km race starts at 07h00, while the 16km race starts at 08h00
1.3 The Start and Finish Venue are both on the University of Cape Town( UCT) Rugby Fields, Upper Campus
2 RACE PACK COLLECTION
2.1 Trail Run entrants will need to collect their race packs on the first two days of Race Pack Collection and Expo,. i. e. Wednesday 8 April or Thursday 9 April, between 09h00 and 19h00.
2.2 No race pack collection will be allowed on the morning of the race.
3 COMPULSORY SAFETY KIT
3.1 All runners are required to carry the following items:
• Waterproof jacket with a hood or a windbreaker
• Beanie or buff
• Space blanket
• Whistle
• Container with a minimum of 1 litre of water
• Basic food supplies( sufficient for at least 5 hours)
• Cell phone( fully charged and kept dry)
• Basic first aid kit
• Waterproofing for your kit
• Race number( must be visible at all times for safety purposes)
• Navigation device with the race route pre-loaded( GPS device, smartwatch, or mobile app). Please ensure your device is tested beforehand and has sufficient battery life for the full duration of the event.
3.2 Please note: Final compulsory kit requirements will be confirmed in the official Final Race Instructions.
4.2 The 24km race starts at 07h00, with batches going off at five-minute intervals until 07h25.
4.3 The 16km race starts at 08h00, with batches going off at five-minute intervals until 08h25.
5 HYDRATION ON ROUTE
5.1 The 24km route will offer hydration stations at 5.2km, 9.7km. 16.6km and 20.5km.
5.2 The 16km route will offer hydration stations at 4.2km, 8.8km. 10.6km and 12.5km.
6 CUT-OFFS
6.1 Cut-off times will be enforced on race-day, with a route cut-off at the Block House at 12h00, and an overall final cut-off at the finish at 14h00.
6.2 Runners who do not meet the designated cut-off times will either be directed to the finish along a shorter route, or transported back to the finish venue, depending on the location of the cut-off point.
6.3 Additional cut-offs may be implemented on race day, depending on the prevailing weather conditions.
7 PRIZE-GIVING
7.1 A short prize-giving ceremony for both races will take place once the top three male and female athletes have completed the race.
