In addition to contributing up to R672-million to Cape Town and the Western Cape , thousands of jobs and opportunities for skills training within the B-BBEE framework are created . About 3 000 temporary jobs are created annually .
The Two Oceans Marathon Initiative ( TOMI ) The Two Oceans Marathon Initiative ( TOMI ) was launched ahead of the 2012 event , as a fundraising initiative that provides much-needed funding for charities that match Two Oceans ’ four social impact pillars : Education , Environment , Health and Wellness , and Athletics Development . The TOMI proceeds are channelled back into local communities and charitable partnerships to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others .
This year , our R2 million Challenge for Good Causes has already raised over R1 , 5 million at the time of compiling this guide and we expect to breach our R2 million target at the close of Race Week . Supporters can still donate to their favourite causes on GivenGain up to the end of May 2024 .
