Onalenna Khonkhobe is a very dangerous protagonist for the 2024 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon . On his debut in 2022 , he led briefly at 50km before fading to 6th overall .
In 2023 he was the “ unofficial pacemaker ” for the Nedbank Team and set a blistering pace in the Comrades Marathon , running the fastest ever halfway split of 2:26.30 and was on course for an astonishing sub 5 hour finish . He did not finish as indeed this was expected . However , that performance will make anyone wary on race day on Saturday 13 April as he has incredible leg speed and will be a big contender come race day .

Daba Debele has to be a very dangerous contender for the 2024 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon , showing a propensity for doing well over tough and hilly courses as his results at the Soweto Marathon show , three podiums from three starts . What could count against him is the unknown additional 14km of the race .
