FOREWORD
CAPTAIN’ S LOG, DECEMBER 2025
Welcome again from the ship’ s bridge. The seas are calm, and we are making good way.
The remarkable demand for entries through the ballot system is highly encouraging for planning the future of the race. While there is obviously disappointment from those that were not selected, it gives us motivation to push ahead with innovative changes for 2027. The success of the 2026 race will determine how, in partnership with the City of Cape Town authorities, we can increase capacity for 2027.
The entry capacity for 2026 is capped at 14,000 for the Ultra and 17,000 for the Half, and we will do everything possible to ensure that we get those numbers to the Start line. The substitution process is currently being reviewed to streamline the transfer between those that cannot and those who want to run. We must emphasise that substitutions only take place through the TTOM platform, and that no entries are available outside of that environment. Beware of scamsters!
This edition of the TTOM digimag is full of information about the exciting planning for 2026. Enjoy the read and good luck with your training.

FROM THE GM’ S DESK
As the year draws to a close, runners naturally begin to shift their focus forward. The festive break offers a chance to pause and reset, but it also marks the moment when new goals take shape and the road ahead becomes clearer. With 2026 now firmly on the horizon, that sense of anticipation is already building.
The Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon continues to move forward with a clear sense of purpose, supported by long-term partnerships that allow us to invest thoughtfully in the runner experience. The extension of Totalsports’ title sponsorship for a further five years reinforces that commitment and provides a strong foundation that enables us to plan with confidence, innovate with intent, and continue shaping an event that puts runners first.
As we close out the year, we do so with confidence in the direction we’ re heading, and excitement for what still lies ahead. Momentum is building, major announcements are coming in January, and there’ s a strong sense that 2026 will be a significant year for the event.
