GERDA

the Great

No runner in the history of the Totalsports Two Oceans Ultra Marathon has enjoyed as much success as Gerda Steyn. With six wins in the women’ s race( and three women’ s race records), she has two more wins than any other athlete, and she will be lining up again in 2026, aiming to take her tally to seven straight wins. We caught up with her for a chat about her stellar Two Oceans record, memories of her best moments in the race, and even some advice for first-time runners tackling the race next year. – INTERVIEW BY SEAN FALCONER
