SIS FOR
SEEDING AT THE START
For # TTOM2023 you will start in batches of 1 000 runners at two-minute intervals apart . You have been seeded accordingly and assigned to your start batch . The entire fields in both the Ultra Marathon and Half Marathon are seeded with an alphabetical letter as part of their race number , and this letter will correspond to the pens at the start . Your qualifying time was used to place you in a batch appropriate to your speed . Please note that you may start in a seeding group behind yours , but not in one ahead .
SPECTATOR SPOTS
Spectators will once again be allowed at the start and finish areas . Spectators can also cheer on family and friends along the route . Go to https :// www . twooceansmarathon . org . za / event-info / supporter-guide / for all the recommended spectator spots .
Please familiarise yourself with shuttle and parking info as well as the applicable road closures . Share the road closures with friends and family who don ’ t know about them .
TIS FOR
TIMING CHIPS
Your FinishTime timing chip is attached to both race numbers and linked to your personal profile . Please remember :
• Your chip is not transferable to another runner , as it is personalised for your use only .
• The timing chips stay on the race numbers . Do not attempt to remove them .
• Remember to attach your Race Numbers to your running vest / top before you leave for the race to prevent them being left at home .
• Wear your temporary timing chip during the race to qualify for position , race time and prizes .
• No chip – no results – no exceptions .
• No other timing chip used in previous Two Oceans Marathons will be valid .
TOG BAGS
A free Tog Bag Facility will be available on race day , courtesy of Official TTOM Logistics Partner , NightwinG , who will provide tog bag drop-off and collection facilities with convenience and peace of mind . The top criteria to make your day as hassle-free as possible . More info on page 63 of this digimag .
TOILETS
In the interest of water conservation , chemical toilets will be utilised at the start , finish and along the route . In the past , numerous complaints have been received from property owners along the route whose private property has been fouled by runners , and this sort of anti-social behaviour will strictly not be tolerated . Please use the toilet facilities provided by the event , or you could face disciplinary action . And please leave the toilet in the same state that you would like to find it .

TOMI
The Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon is so much more than just a running race . The event also has a strong philanthropy focus through the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative ( TOMI ), which was launched ahead of the 2012 event . This fundraising initiative provides much-needed funding for select groups of charities that align to the Two Oceans Marathon NPC ’ s social impact pillars : Education , Environment , Health and Athletic Development . Each year , charitable organisations are invited to apply to become an official beneficiary ahead of the next year ’ s event , so keep an eye on social media and the race website for beneficiary applications opening .
