Seeing Read: Review of the Drunken Monkey Festival By The Highlander On the first weekend of August 2017, , The Shewolf and the Highlander got together and attended the Drunken Monkey Festival at Upton-Upon-Severn in Worcester- shire, UK. This year was the 4th outing for the festival and it has been growing each and every year. Same as other years, the festival was organised by Mr. Stu Ev and co- orga- nized with Mike Jurgens (Wizards of Oz), who helped manage the main stages, and Mr. Chris Harvey (Tower Studios), who managed the Tower stage. Chris also supplied the back line and drums for both stages. at All the bands that appeared this year’s Drunken Monkey Festi- val gave their time for free and helped raise £14,000 which all went to The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Both myself and the Shewolf were blown away with the level of talent on both stages. Opening this year’s festivities was a very young band indeed. Max age 11 (Vocals Guitar), Dagan age 11 (drums) and Theia age 11 (bass) and they make up PiggyDooDar . Everybody was so amazed at the level these young kids were at. They already have been booked to open next year as well. We had a chat with the two lads and they told us Max writes all the lyrics and then the other two help with writing the music to accompany t he words. On the Main stage this year, you could find the very best tribute bands like Soul Stripper (AC/DC) , Wizzards of Ozz ( Ozzy Osbourne), Forev- er (Judas Priest), Van Hailen (Van Halen) Hellbent Forever (Judas Priest), Van Hailen (Van Halen) and Dizzy Lizzy (Thin Lizzy) just to mention a few. There were also origi- nal bands like Troyen , Isolation and Stone Cold Killers. “The one memory I will cherish from the weekend is I got to meet the legend that is Mr. Krusher Joule, the world famous artist. ” much fun as we were with crowd partici- pation and getting quite intimate with us at On The Up When we hear a band that has automatic, arena ready, quality music and presence...you will find them HERE! The Blondie-esq vibe of The Orange Clouds, breaks though the clutter of Total Orders recent Reverbnation campaign with a style all their own. Their brand new single “Holiday” has staying power. one point. Unfortunately, I had to leave early Sunday morning, but people have told me I missed out on the likes of BroodMother , Hearts and Mind and 3Sixty. In the fields was a very good mixture of food stalls from Hog Roast to burger vans and not forgetting the beer tent, which was very well priced. The Tower stage was mainly original bands and artists this year and the quality of acts were amazing. I have been asked to say what the stand out acts were but it is so hard with everyone that played. But just on the Tower stage, PiggyDooDar were outstanding on Friday night. There were a few female fronted bands that played like The Harts, and Protea Skies. But ,when Aramantus took to the stage, they blew me away. At the end of their set, they performed a cover of “Killing in the Name of” by Rage Against the Machine. The field went off, ev- eryone loved that set. Saturday also had a few high- lights for me. , The day started off with the Bristol band, The Angry Badgers, who did an awesome set. Then it went on with The Stone Cutters, No Glory, 52 North and Gage bringing another level to the day. Finally, on Saturday night, headlining the Tower stage was KIKAMORA, who was in a class of their own. They were having as The one memory I will cherish from the weekend is I got to meet the legend that is Mr. Krusher Joule, the world famous artist. Both the Shewolf and I had a great chat with him and in coming issues of Total Order, I will go into more details. So there is something to look forward to. Plans are already in the works for next years festival. August 3rd, 4th & 5th, 2018 LET’S DO IT ALL AGAIN!!!!! We know it is only a single, but damn. It is a damn good, hot, catchy single, you will find. All full of 70’s, 80’s and 90’s flower pop bombast. When Neue Regel Radio and Total Or- der magazine launched their campaigns, over 4 months we were swamped with over 6,500 submissions from all different genres the two entities cover. There were artists with the complete package, large budgets and then there were artists who you could see were on a shoestring budget. What they were able to do with a budget and the qual- ity of track they submitted was noteworthy. Comprised of a group from all over the map, The Orange Clouds were formed in 2013 by guitarist/songwriter Bernard Du-naux and Chris Kaye drummer. “Holiday”, their current single and our se- lection for this issue, is one of those tracks that you click through your playlist to find in what-ever mood you’re in. Margot does an incredible job of sounding like the rebirth of Debby Harry and the whole track feels like it should have come from the Parallel Lines sessions. A sound that no one has yet to capture or reproduce. Its etherial space and constant motion make it a real easy listen, while the hook will have you singing and hitting the replay button continuously. Currently working on new ma- terial, the band will be coming into the studio for a live interview in October 2017. Make sure you tune in to Tunes from The Crypt on Tuesday at 6:30 or Wednesday at 8:30 on the RTFX Radio Show. To all of the artists out there, just keep in mind that one really well written and completely original sound- ing track is good enough to catch everyone’s ear and garner a lot of attention. The only thing missing from The Orange Clouds is more material and based on what we are hearing now, We are all anxiously awaiting new music.
