Every now and then someone special comes into our lives and a few years ago someone did just that. PJ joined in
with us in our chat room and became very good friends with a lot of us here at NRR. She was known as the Queen
Lurker, she was to be found lurking in most shows here at NRR either following the UK hosts and also Following
the US hosts always in the chatroom making new listeners and chatters feel welcome.
It was my honour and pleasure to call PJ not just my friend but we treated each other as brother and sister, our
friendship was the building blocks to The Highlander shows being born. The shows were a team event behind the
scene and I don’t think it would have been as good as is without her input. With our success and getting to know
PJ’s partner John I had asked them to think about doing a show together, after some deliberations and many cof-
fee’s JP & PJ’s Alternative world was born.
Their show was a hit from day one and gained many listeners and good friends. I was my pleasure to take PJ and
Jp out and about to gig’s where we would have the times of our lives. So many memories were made over the few
years we knew PJ and they will stay with me forever. We met some fantastic people and seen some awesome bands
whilst we were on the road and there was never enough coffee to be had. She loved her independent bands and
made close friends with a few bands like Digital Criminals, Riders Creed and many more. Come weekends you
could find Pj and JP either at the caravan in North Wales going out to local gigs there or at home in St Helens
where they would be at the Tank their local pub watching bands.
We have lost a rare and true friend of great music when PJ passed but her legacy will live on,
I miss you and always will keep you with me, Goodnight PJ and rest well.
