What are you most excited to do as an officer?

First, I’m so honored to be working with such an amazing board; I’m really looking forward to a successful year. Second, collecting photos from Convention and last year’s Nationals to create the scrapbook is one of the projects I’m excited to begin. I also hope to work collaboratively with the other officers as I handle the WJCL social media accounts. We will make this year one of the best ones yet .

What new initiatives do you plan to pursue?

I hope to create a blog linked to the WJCL website where members can submit photos of Latin in their everyday lives and those photos will be posted for all to view. I think it’s crucial for people to realize that Latin surrounds us more than we realize, and it would be an effective way to bring our community together. I’m open to any suggestions, ideas or any potential projects, so hmu.

Do you have any advice for future candidates?

Always stay positive, and don’t ever give up! Just be you. As exhausting as running for a position may be, it is well worth it in the end.

What three things would you take to a desert island besides food and water?

A plane, a pilot, and my dog-- the basic necessities.

Skittles or M&Ms?

Depends on the day...sometimes I’m craving chocolate, sometimes I’m craving chewy, but please don’t mix the two!!!!
