Ancient Wooly Threads

BY ANGELA KUBICKE

2017 NJCL Editor

Sheep are more than cute wooly creatures. Sheep have a long history in the world, from the use of their wool to the use of their bones in religious sacrifices. Ancient sheep were the first animals to experience selective breeding. Many livestock practices used in Greece and Rome are still used today. Featuring my sheep, turn to page 6 to learn more about the history behind your favorite wool sweater.
