"The 2026-2027 KYJCL year came to a start with our first state officer meeting in early March. We would like to congratulate the following new state officers for the year: Lucas Buescher (president), Leah Richardson (first vice president), Kavi Bijayananda (second vice president), Sadie Schulkens (communications coordinator), Anastasia Krause (parliamentarian), and Lily Blom (historian)! Our new officers are very excited for the new year of JCL. Our biggest event recently was National Classics week. During National Classics Week, we hosted many fun events each day. Some activities we did included making ancient theatre masks, creating mad libs, hosting a game night, and so many other fun events. These events were very popular and got a lot of participation. The KYJCL has also been hard at work on social media. We have been posting a lot more Instagram and have been working hard to revitalize the state discord server, especially through our 'Question of the Week' section. It’s one of our main goals to stay connected as a state JCL! We also plan to have more chapters joining us soon as the year progresses. Again, the KYJCL greatly looks forward to the rest of the year and can’t wait to see what it holds in store!"

"Salvete omnes!
The MDJCL draws its year to a close, with our annual state convention held at the Key School (who were hosts for the first time this year!) This event featured great athletic prowess in Ludi, strong performances in Certamen, a very close competition between Bryn Mawr and Easton High for spirit (with Bryn Mawr taking the crown), and spectacular artistic pieces, including a somewhat violent peep diorama reenactment of Hector’s death and subsequent dragging around the walls of Troy by Peep-chilles. Additionally, the election of our new state officer board was held, and four new amendments made their way into our state constitution! Looking towards the future, the MDJCL is making preparations for national convention! We hope to meet with you again in Indiana. Vale!"
"Salvete from Massachusetts!
As we prepare for our annual state convention on May 16 and 17, MassJCLers are sharpening their Certamen skills, preparing Graphic Arts entries, and psyching up for Spirit. Additionally, over the past few months, Massachusetts has hosted several local Certamina: Nobles-Weston, Winchester, BLS, and Harvard. Our Certamen teams have also traveled out of state, competing at UPenn and Princeton alongside JCLers from across the country. Finally, our state publication, the Forum Factorum, has released its third edition of the year—check it out at massjcl.org!"
