"Salvete and χαιρετε from the sunny California JCL!

In the months since my last update, much has transpired. Our big event coming up is our 70th annual state convention! We’re all busy as bees with preparations: board members have met, Certamen players are gearing up for qualifying rounds at the end of February, the host school (St. Francis High School in Sacramento!) has been planning activities, and candidates for state office have been working on campaign materials. California state conventions generally attract the same number of delegates as nationals — if not more. And state conventions every year exemplify this year's NJCL theme: with all of the small preparations come a harmonious and memorable two-day experience for us all.

"Greetings from the state of Florida!

All eight of our regions just wrapped up their regional tournaments, and we are heading into season for both state and UF. We're looking forward to the start of another awesome year!"

The Georgia Junior Classical League has had a wonderful close to the first semester, filled with scholarship, service, and spirit. This fall, Northview High School proudly hosted our annual Fall Forum on October 25, 2025, welcoming 250 delegates from across the state. Throughout the day, students showcased their academic prowess by competing in exams such as Mythology, Latin, and Roman History, while Certamen rounds and Olympika events kept the excitement high and the competition spirited.

In addition to academic events, GJCLers participated in our statewide service project benefiting Must Ministries, giving students the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community (Thanks to our wonderful Second Vice President Kaleb!).

As the first semester came to a close, chapters across Georgia celebrated with festive holiday meetings. From lively Saturnalia celebrations to Valentine’s Day gatherings, local chapters have kept up their holiday and their JCL spirits through these chapter meetings!

Now, GJCLers from across the state are getting ready for our upcoming state convention on March 27! We are all looking forward to another smooth, fun, and collaborative state convention to add to the books!
