Salvete, amici!
I genuinely can’t believe this is the last time I will be writing for the Torch! But what an incredible journey the past two years have been.
National Convention truly was the culmination of an entire year’s worth of hard work. Thank you all for making it my favorite Nationals yet. In introducing new events like the Scavenger Hunt and Annual Giving Raffle, I admit that I felt anxious because I didn’t know if they would be successful. However, the way you all immediately embraced these initiatives made the JCLove in my heart grow even stronger.
Being a JCLer has shaped who I am to my core, and the friendships I have made here are the strongest ones in my life. While this is the end of one chapter and I may never see you in person again, I know the connections and stories we’ve shared will last forever.
With JCLove,

Salvete, omnes!
While another exciting year of JCL begins, we reminisce about our time at the Miami convention – the unforgettable memories, the new friendships, and engaging activities. As we gather our Latin and Greek textbooks, we transition back to our daily routine. Whether you are studying Pliny or just beginning to learn the forms of sum, this Fall issue of the Torch: U.S. is for you.
Take a moment to celebrate your accomplishments, relive the joy of convention, and dive into the enriching experiences ahead. In the upcoming year, we welcome a new season of Latin League, a new AP Latin curriculum, and the novel A&A Corner. As we look into the future, let us embrace new experiences and explore unfamiliar paths, as well as extend our gratitude to those who support us along the way.
