Salvete from the Keystone State!

As the school year came to a close, the PAJCL community proudly celebrated a remarkable series of accomplishments that capped off a vibrant and meaningful year for Latin and the classics in Pennsylvania.

This year, we welcomed three new chapters into the PAJCL family, expanding our statewide community of passionate Latin scholars. Students from Upper Dublin High School earned the Seal of Biliteracy in Latin—a prestigious honor reflecting exceptional linguistic achievement and years of dedication. Meanwhile, Harriton High School’s Certamen team shone on the national stage at the National Junior Classical League Convention, representing Pennsylvania with pride and poise.

Both schools also had students recognized in the NJCL Creative Writing Contest, a testament to the strength of our students’ imagination and classical insight.

Throughout the year, we kept the spirit of the classics alive with a series of statewide events—including our Fall Fest, numerous Saturnalia celebrations, and our flagship gathering: the Pennsylvania State Latin Convention. Held at Penn State University, the convention brought together over 180 students from 13 schools for a weekend of spirited competition and camaraderie.

In addition, a complete revamp of our student publication, The Keystone, helped shine a spotlight on PAJCL, earning attention for its fresh vision and student-driven content.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication, enthusiasm, and excellence our students demonstrated throughout the year—and we look forward to bringing even more virtus and gaudium into the year ahead!
