Felicitas
Our club volunteered for two hours at the Indiana Hope Center run by Phil’s Friends, an organization that creates and sends care packages to people fighting cancer across the country, where we performed a variety of tasks such as decorating care package boxes, creating cards, and assembling care packages. We hosted a Latin Club ‘Presentation Night’ where our club members created presentations on classically-related topics such as whether our club officers and chairs would survive in Ancient Rome, why Chappell Roan is the reincarnation of Helen of Troy, and a recasting of the movie Gladiator with the Muppets! At our April Club Meeting, we celebrated Floralia by making various flowers out of pipe cleaners!

Our trip down to Harvard Certamen encompassed the happiness aspect of Felicitas as it was a time where all 14 of us in both vans spent multiple days together, allowing us to bond as a group and have a lot of fun. We explored parts of Cambridge, had a late night practice round, and spent the 8 hours in the car talking with one another. Though the translation of lucky doesn’t necessarily work with this, the idea of happiness does.

Our April activity was Rome's Birthday Party! We represented prosperity with the large amount of food at the party which our club members brought. We had fun playing games such as Would You Rather and Pin the Hair on Dr. Horrell (our club sponsor). Our club even did a Cake Walk where the lucky winner got to take home a cake! Our party was not only a celebration of the founding of Rome but also of the best parts of Roman society!
