Ohio has been up to a lot of things this past season! We started off the new year with many Ohio delegates attending virtual NJCL Convention. Students showed a strong performance in all competitions, and Ohio’s own Irene Calderon was elected as NJCL Editor. The Ohio board then worked diligently to plan service events and competitions, such as Photo of the Season, at Fall Planning Meeting. Recently, Central Ohio has had a service event, with North and South Ohio service events coming up soon. OJCL has also successfully hosted Virtual Fall Forum! Attendees participated in colloquia, Certamen, testing, impromptu art, and lectures hosted by our amazing 2nd VP (which you can find on @ohiojcl on Instagram). With so much coming up, Ohio delegates and sponsors have much to look forward to, and they should stay updated on events, the Torch and more with the OJCL website. We look forward to the rest of the year!

Salvete, omnes! The WJCL has been working hard from home to keep the JCL spirit alive. Although nationals was virtual, Wisconsin still had a blast! Our board came together from our separate homes through Zoom and Instagram to revive the JCLove so greatly needed at a NJCL Convention.  As for our success at nationals this year, our scrapbook, constructed by the one-and-only Olivia Patel, received the highest award and our state publication placed 4th. Certamen was also a success in all three categories.  Although our Ludi reign may have been put on hold, E-lympika was not exempt from our domination. Wisco’s very own Secretary Eddie Kustner placed, and one of our state’s fastest runners, Nathaniel Osbourne, obliterated the marathon. E-lympika merch may not exist at the moment, but Wisco’s online Ludi store continues to thrive! As many of you may already know or have excessively been reminded, you can purchase your very own Ludi jersey or socks right here.  As we approach state convention season and the inevitably cold winter in Wisco, our WJCL board has begun planning for our virtual convention. Anyways, we hope to see you all one day in sunny California!
