Mr. Cameron Ward

by Talha Ali, GJCL

"Latin class gives me an extra boost of serotonin, and I must say it is in large part due to Mr. Ward."

Gratias vobis agimus!

You might know Mr. Ward as the guy who does Brown Squirrel at That’s Entertainment!; I get the privilege of knowing him as my Latin teacher. The first time I walked into his room, I thought to myself, “Is Santa Claus my teacher?” He had a great, large, very grey beard, and he soon became an enthusiastic beacon of light, guiding wide-eyed 8th graders through the ins and outs of pronouncing Latin words and understanding grammar. It's become more of a tradition in our Latin class to play Among Us after finishing work, and Mr. Ward is also the man who will text you at 9 a.m. on a day off to continue the fun. He’s the same teacher who will send a student to get him a Twix bar from the vending machine every day. Underneath all of the goofiness, Mr.Ward is someone who truly cares about his students. Anytime one of his students is having a bad day, he makes it his point to cheer them up. Ward is a man who is not afraid to drop some knowledge onto us when we come running to him about yet another life problem. Do not let the niceness fool you though; he is not afraid to absolutely make fun of you for making a bad joke. Latin adds just an extra drop of serotonin to me, and I must say it is in large part due to Mr.Ward.
