New members to the NJCL Committee: Mr. Wegenhart,
Ms. Lewis, Mr. Compton
they were recorded so that they could be posted on the NJCL website as another campaign material. There were five general questions, two or three office-specific questions, and a fun question to close the interview. For the fun question, all candidates were asked what color they would dye their hair; answers ranged across the entire color spectrum, with purple and gold being an unsurprisingly popular choice.
Editor Irene Calderon, Historian Vivian Wu, Parliamentarian Annie Class, Communications Coordinator Nolan Heinrich, Second Vice President Lyndie Reining, First Vice President Raees Kamboj, and President Daniel Newgarden were installed as the 2020-2021 NJCL Executive Board, as JCLers applauded them from their homes across the country.
In conjunction with elections to the NJCL Board, there were also elections to the NSCL Board and the National Committee. President Jamie Doyle from Massachusetts, Vice President Rachael Cox from Florida, Secretary Shandi Burrows from Alabama, Treasurer Natasha Panduwawala from Maryland, Parliamentarian Neah Lekan from California and Virginia, Historian Elizabeth Foster from Wisconsin, and Editor Ann Nguyen from Louisiana are the members of the 2020-2021 NSCL Board.
The 2020-2021 National Committee is comprised of Ms. Cathy Sturgill, Public Relations/Membership Chair; Ms. Emily Lewis, Academic Chair; Mr. Robert McDonald, Secretary and Communications Chair; Mr. Brian Compton, Constitutional Advisor; Ms. Jennifer Luongo, Certamen chair; Mr. Seth Knowles, Creative Arts Chair; Dr. Generosa Sangco-Jackson, Committee Vice-Chair and Digital Contests Chair; Ms. Jennifer Jordt, Graphic Arts Chair; Mr. Kyle McGimsey, Committee Chair and Olympika Contest Chair; Ms. Elizabeth Bouis, Convention Advisor; Mr. Todd Wegenhart, Programs/Scholastic Services Chair; and Mr. Kurt Ristroph, Publications Chair.
Thank you to all who took a leap of faith and ran for office! It is due to your passion and enthusiasm that the JCL can progress the way it does.
