Committee Members
This year, we say goodbye to Mr. David Jackson, Mrs. Sherry Doerfler, and Mr. Dennis Webb, who are all retiring from the National Committee. Since his election in 2015, Mr. Jackson served as the Academic Chair and Vice-Chair. He skillfully managed testing and contests, and JCLers knew that he was the one who they had to be well-behaved around if they didn’t want to get sent home at their parents’ expense. Meanwhile, Mrs. Doerfler and Mr. Webb served as the Programs & Scholastic Services Chair and the Constitutional Advisor, respectively, since their elections in 2011. Mrs. Doerfler established new scholarships, providing more opportunities to experience the joys of the NJCL Convention at a fraction of the cost; she also diligently worked on making service projects and spirit highly enjoyable for everyone. Mr. Webb made essential changes to the NJCL Constitution, made sure all aspects of NJCL elections went as smoothly as possible, and was the undisputed expert at finding any needed information in the Constitution and Handbook. Though we are sad to see them leave, we wish Mr. Jackson, Mrs. Doerfler, and Mr. Webb well in their next endeavors!
