Select Georgia JCL delegates met at Rock Eagle, the familiar site of State Convention in April, for a weekend of bonding and learning at Praetoria. The yearly event for student leaders in GJCL featured activities ranging from mock campaign speeches to “Danaid Dash.” Only weeks after Praetoria, the GJCL held its long-awaited annual Fall Forum on October 13th, a celebration of classics attended by 35 delegations. JCLers from across the state reunited at North Gwinnett High School for a day of countless activities and unforgettable memories. Whether workshops or exams, Certamen or ludi, the service project or simply hanging out with friends, Fall Forum had something for everyone. The day also featured the Host/Hostess Contest, held to select a new member for the GJCL board. After General Assembly II, Georgia waved goodbye to its former Hostess Blaine Kantor and welcomed new Hostess Anna Myhre.

The Georgia JCL has had an eventful fall season, but even more is happening in the coming months. We can’t wait for what the next year holds, and we’re already looking forward to State Convention in April.

Greetings from the Golden State!

True to this year’s theme, CAJCLers have been busy bees this quarter. Our first statewide collaboration was the September issue of our Nuntius magazine. We were lucky to feature articles from CAJCLers as well as California SCLers, thanks to our brand-new SCL Corner in the magazine! It brings me so much joy to share that we also enjoyed article submissions from the Florida JCL and SCL; the Florida SCL Vice President (and nationwide meme) Ethan Ream wrote an article about his Certamen adventures, and Bethany Wingenfeld, the FJCLer-turned-CASCLer, wrote a beautiful love letter to the JCL. Being able to connect with other state chapters, and sharing stories with our National JCL family, is what makes this organization so special. California JCL looks forward to fostering these relationships, these brotherhoods, with our JCL familia, from coast to coast.

CAJCL has more exciting news to share! We have a brand-spanking-new Photo of the Month contest inspired by Florida JCL, a Meme competition, a Fall Writing competition, and… drum rolls please… A Classifieds section in our Nuntius magazine, like the one from the Convention Ear (except it’s free!). It is so exciting to participate in such a massive organization with such creative and passionate people. The ideas that another implements inspires more people to do the same.

California is excited to participate in the upcoming Regionals competitions, and are thrilled to get to share our experience with y’all.

Sending #JCLove from the avocado-obsessed,

CAJCL
